New year, new shows! Here’s an #InTheFuture prediction for you. What’s coming to Netflix and what’s leaving in January 2019. As usual, there are a bunch of Netflix Originals debuting in January. Unusually, though, this month more classic movies caught my eye than Netflix series or movies. Well, with the exception of one brief, sweet, uncertain tease.

Marvel’s The Punisher Season 2. No date set at the time of this writing but it was teased at the end of Netflix’s January video. I can only assume it will be dropping sometime this month. With the cancellation of the best live-action Marvel properties (fight me!) we must savor what is likely the last Marvel Netflix season. Penultimate, if we are lucky.

As for movie releases, it’s a grab bag but a tasty grab bag. That was an odd choice of words. Monty Python and the Holy Grail and The Addams Family are a couple of great comedies worth a rewatch… or twelve. Kevin Smith fans can revisit Jay and Silent Bob Stike Back, Smith’s stoner comedy from before he became a real-life stoner.

If The Addams Family has got you feeling 90s, following it up with Quentin Tarantino’s iconic Pulp Fiction or the teen slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer. Does Last Summer hold up? Probably not but (HOT TAKE) it’s my preferred 90s slasher. Yeah, I said it. Sceam was overrated. (fight me!)

Also, the complete Indiana Jones film series! Temple, Raiders, Last Crusade. Even that vodka one everyone loves so much. I actually don’t have anything to say about Kingdom of the Dan Arkanoid. I never saw it. (fight me?) Solo: A Star Wars Story is making it’s Netflix premiere as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is making its exit. Comics fans may be interested to see that The Dark Knight is returning to the streaming service along with Watchmen.

What am I forgetting? Seems like comics fans might be interested in something else. Oh yeah! Just a couple of small, under the radar movies you probably never heard of. The Incredibles 2 and Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. Not to be confused with Ants! and The Wasp Woman… oh boy, that’s an embarrassing mistake.
