All the best things happen in April, don’t they? April Fools! Which has pretty much lost its effect in the age of the internet. Tax day! Oh, no, that’s not fun. Easter! Well, that’s a religious holiday so it may not be everyone’s cup of tea. And as far as religious holidays go, it ain’t no Christmas, am I right? April 20th! Eh? Eh? You know what I mean? Yeah, you know what I mean. (So do the cops, man. Wait… what was that sound? Was that someone at your window? Shh. I think they’re on to you. You better go check that out.  No, I’m serious. Stop reading and go check that out.)

Hey, it’s alright! Ol’ uncle Netflix has a whole bunch of good stuff for you in April. Me, I’m most excited for the return of one teenaged witch. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 2 hits Netflix April 5th. It’s refreshing not to wait a year or more between seasons of a show! Also, there’s a new, very CG looking ULTRAMAN series. That’s something!

For you Grawlix Cinematic Universe listeners, the ridiculous Freddy vs. Jason will be available April 1st. No joke. Check that out then revisit our Alien vs Predator vs Freddy vs Jason podcast episode. Was I right to change my mind on this schlockfest?

Also noteworthy, The Hateful Eight: Extended Version will be on Netflix April 25th. This season of GCU is Season Taran3no, so we’ll be hitting this dialog-driven western before long on the show. What’s interesting, though, is that Netflix will be streaming the Extended Version. This is most likely the longer 70mm Roadshow cut of the film that Tarantino toured across various theaters that were able to show the 70mm format. The Roadshow version featured an overture and intermission as well as roughly six more minutes of content in the form of extended and alternate scenes. This hasn’t even been released on home video!

And finally, for our 420 friends. No hard feelings for the lame gag in the beginning of the article, yeah? I know, as more states legalize it, less of you actually have to worry about the cops. Good. In that case, mellow out and watch Pineapple Express for the 14,000th time. It’s goofy but I’ve got a soft spot for the dopey (pun intended) action comedy which hits (pun intended) the streaming service April 1st.
